By Daphne Clarance: Acidity and bloating is one of the most common disorders that most people experience almost every day. Although bloating is a feeling of fullness in the stomach, acidity may be associated with heartburn or a dull aching feeling in the chest.
Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya, an Ayurveda expert, took to Instagram and shared three treatments that can help relieve acidity in adults. "I see a lot of people suffering from acidity, especially adults (as pitta dominates the adult life, in the same way as Kapha and Vata dosha dominates childhood and old age, respectively)," her post read.
Dr Savaliya added that acidity is a sign that people have taken their digestion for granted and many have compromised on the quality of food they take.
"These days, people have taken their digestion for granted and binge on whatever food items they come across, without considering their hunger, quantity and the quality of food. Also, stressful lifestyle and lack of exercise plays a role here. Hence, not only adults and pitta dominant individuals but even kids and teenagers suffer from acidity," she wrote.
She advised that taking these 3 ayurvedic treatments for 12 weeks could help "reduce excess pitta (responsible for reflux and heartburn) in your mind and body and help you pacify your acidity issue."

Start your day with coriander tea. For this, take one glass of water (300 ml), add one tablespoon of coriander seeds, 5 mint leaves and 15 curry leaves and boil it for 5 minutes, then strain and sip on it first thing in the morning.
Fennel seeds are known to help aid digestion. Dr Savaliya advised consuming a teaspoon of fennel seeds after every meal.
After having coriander tea in the morning, the nutrition expert shared that one should drink rose water at the end of the day. "Take 1 cup of water (150 ml) and boil it for 3 mins, then add a few dry rose petals (1 tsp) in it and wait for 5 mins, then strain and sip on the rose tea at bedtime (30 mins before sleeping)," she wrote.
